We went to visit Yangon in Myanmar from September 8th to 11th.

\nThis time I would like to visit JICA, the Japan Foundation, the Nippon Foundation etc, and introduced the Siem Reap’s art school “SmallArtSchool” to the free art school “NewZero” in Yangon. I am doing an exhibition of the students, I think that I was able to visit at a very good timing.

\nArtist Aye Ko, representative of NewZero, and the artists surrounding him seemed to be like volunteers at the end of the Tokugawa period. “Art” and “political dissemination” in Myanmar are located in a very close place, I could feel “art” which is different from Cambodia as well as Western and Japanese as well. And we got an opportunity to present the activities of SocialCompass and talked about in front of about 30 students, artists and journalists of Myanmar people. I feel that I can make opportunities to animate with them in the near future.

Besides that, I also visited the Myanmar Film Festival where the Japan Foundation is involved in the management and conference events where lacquer artists gather from Japan and the world.
