Guest Class at Phnom Penh Japanese School – Junior High Division

On Wednesday, May 7th, 2025, Hidetaka Nakamura, the representative of SocialCompass, together with our intern Daiki Kashima, had the pleasure of conducting a class for the junior high students at the Phnom Penh Japanese School.

The theme of the class was learning about design, using the school’s mascot “Coconut Dancers” as inspiration.
Originally, we were approached with a request to designworks using the mascot. However, we thought, “Wouldn’t it be more meaningful if the students created it together with us?” So we proposed turning it into a workshop instead.

The students surprised us with an incredible variety of unique and creative ideas. We’re truly excited to see how the character will evolve from here.
In this age where AI is becoming more and more accessible, we’re moving from an era of “creating perfection alone” to one where “we shape ideas together.” This experience reminded us just how powerful and meaningful collaboration can be.
